Wakefield, RI – The Easterseals Rhode Island Pediatric Outpatient program was granted $2,500 from the John E. Fogarty Foundation which will be used to purchase an Interactive Metronome.

The Interactive Metronome is a computerized program that uses images and sound to greatly enhance concentration, language processing, and coordination in children with sensory integration issues, motor problems, and feeding issues.

The family-centered Pediatric Outpatient program opened in October 2011 and provides pediatric outpatient therapy services for children and young adults. Due to the varied applications of the Interactive Metronome, we will be able to enhance our physical, occupational, and speech therapies to help focus on developing our client’s ability to perform everyday living activities by enhancing or restoring function. The Pediatric Outpatient Program will served nearly 100 children and young adults in 2013 and will serve more than 100 clients over the next year.
